Current Information:Age-27 SDGW-EDMONSTONE 41, Gilpin Road, Clapton Park Etretat Churchyard, France 9th Essex of 35 Brigade, 12th Division had been involved in the Battle of Loos since arriving there in early October, 1915. Before that they had been in the Ypres salient. On 10th December, 1915, 12th Division moved to the Givenchy sector. Sergeant Edmondstone died of wounds on 19th December after having been evacuated to Etretat, near Le Havre on the coast. As yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. |
